Our Voice, speaking our truth.

Have you ever had one of those moments where you had emotions so big and loud they seem to get stuck in the V of your throat and feel painful?

Like when you're crying mad...but don’t want to….

Or so frustrated that someone won't LISTEN or misunderstands every turn of phrase?

I always describe it as feeling like I have a dried up apricot pit stuck in my throat or feel as if it is hard to swallow. I can feel an energetic tightening or narrowing when i am having a hard time articulating or processing a thought. Now, with more of an understanding of Proprioception, and in paying attention, I can determine a yes or no anser, or if someone is lying.

How do we clear it?

Well we tell the individual of course. But what if that's not possible due to lack of EQ or the unavailability of the person we feel we NEED to express to.

Speaking TO the person is sometimes the block itself.

One way to unblock the expressed emotion is to write it down or say it out loud to someone else or to take two physical sides of a line...stand on one side and express yourself then swap sides and respond as the other person then swap back (weird I know but effective)

In lieu of that try to clear it by shouting, singing, breath work, throwing your head back during meditation and physically opening it with hot huffs of breath.

And my favorite coaching technique and most effective PRACTICE SAYING NO! Try it for a week. Say no to everything (yes even the things you WANT to do). Don't freak out, you can renegotiate your yes just practice saying NO and observe.

See who accepts your no or who manipulates you when you don't give the yes they were looking for.

Observe where your boundaries lie and with whom.

You're not allowed to quantify or explain your no. See where you stand.

Sing...laugh with your belly. Cry. Yell. Speak. Breathe....

When the throat chakra is blocked, we do not feel seen or heard. We feel as if we are a ghost in our own home. You can literally see someone haunch their shoulders or tuck their chin in order to protect or cover their throat. This is self preservation and affects confidence and the ability to speak with authority. Sometimes an individual will take on a soft or subtle persona to prevent being challenged to speak.

Anxiety is the primary side effect here. It is as if the person stays in a constant state of nerves at being required to speak and avoids being put in the spotlight. Stage fright is a good example!
